The Bonteheuwel Environment Forum ( BEF) consists out of  9 members which represents 5 females , 3 males and 1 disabled person. The BEF are actively in monitoring the state of  environment in Bonteheuwel. The forum have representation on the City of Cape Town Ward Forum. The BEF chairlady , Fagmieda Khan was elected as a South African Women Environment Ambassodor at the Africa Women Environment Parliament in August 2010.
The BEF are committed to building partnerships with national- , provincail-, local government , community sector and business in the fight against global warming. 
The BEF are currently  being funded by the JET Community Awards Program from 2008 until 2011.
